About

The Dyslexia Club is for anyone needing support for a child experiencing literacy difficulties at any stage of their schooling. I can provide advice, tutoring or full diagnostic assessments to help determine the best possible path for your child.

For over 10 years I have been supporting individual and small groups of children with a range of learning difficulties including dyslexia, dyscalculia, learning delay, speech and language difficulties and English as an Additional Language (EAL) at a local primary school. I have therefore developed a passion for and expertise in supporting primary age children who face learning challenges. Having recently qualified as a Specialist Dyslexia Tutor and Assessor (Institute of Education, UCL) and gained AMBDA accreditation, my focus now is on helping and diagnosing children with a range of literacy difficulties at both primary and secondary stages.

Services

Please book a free 25-minute appointment to discuss how you can support your child at home and what options for further support are available.

Full diagnostic assessment

An assessment comprises a ½ day in-person assessment with your child; informal feedback provided the same day; comprehensive report and the delivery of a meaningful plan for future intervention within two weeks.

Specialist dyslexia tutoring

Each teaching programme is based upon an initial assessment of the learner’s strengths and difficulties and as such content and materials are tailored precisely to the needs of individual students.

Literacy assessment to develop a teaching programme

This is an informal (2 hour) assessment of your child's attainment levels and areas of strength and weakness to develop a plan of intervention to share with school or to inform support provided at home.

Parent and teacher testimonials

Parent of Year 3 child

Our daughter loved working with Sadie for a term, during which time she made real progress with her reading. Her confidence grew as a result and she is able to apply the strategies learned with Sadie in the wider context of school.

SENCo at local school

I have worked closely with Sadie for almost a decade during which time she has supported children with a range of learning challenges across our school from Reception to Year 6.

Sadie’s calm, professional, warm and nurturing approach allows her to form great working relationships with the pupils – they look forward to working with her and actively engage within the sessions. This has positively impacted their confidence levels, academic attainment and the all-important application of knowledge and understanding as independent learners.

Sadie completed her training whilst volunteering at our school – her specialist knowledge and expertise she brings have benefitted pupils, parents and the staff team. We look forward to continuing this partnership and highly recommend her professionalism and input.
